Continually thinks = is being pressed.
« on: October 03, 2008, 03:17:11 pm »
I am at a loss on this one, having played trem for nearly two years I didn't played over the summer and come back only to find that trem thinks the = key is continually being pressed.  No other applications have any issues, and the hardware/driver setup is the same.  Naturally I removed trem, all config setting and downloaded again, to find the problem persits.  Any ideas?

check your atogen.cfg if '=' is bound to any action.

Both bound and unbound the key is always being pressed, (if I click to set a bind through the in game menu, it will always end up as =).  Interestingly the console is unaffected.

I was running the TJW backport before, and now tried just the vanilla client.  Have their been any other releases?  I haven't been around the community at all.

http://releases.mercenariesguild.net/client/ is latest SVN with a "backport".

http://www.tremfusion.net/trac/wiki/Releases is also latest SVN, but it has a lot of cool extra features, which other clients don't have.
See the full list of features here: http://www.tremfusion.net/trac/wiki/FeaturesList

Client wars.

But, them are useful.

Btw Minchino, have you tried deleting the autogen.cfg and leave that tremulous make it?

(Maybe another .cfg that causing the problem? )

Hmmm, what I'm thinking is that your computer is the problem, not tremulous. I thought so because you said you re-installed Tremulous but the problem persists, which is quite strange.

Well, hopefully the clients listed below can help you out, but are you sure that you don't have some sort of turbo-key on your keyboard? Yea, I know its a long-shot to ask, just wondering.

i had similar problems twice, first i changed hardvare but now i'm trying to fix it with a screwdriver.

at both cases, the reason was that i accindentally poured beer on my keyboard.

I am now even more bemused as the alternate SVN's don't suffer the same problem (but they also dont appear to support custom screen resolutions).  Keyboard as far as I'm aware is clean, and hopefully error free, (It's a sealed laptop keyboard).  Thanks for the help.

The input code is totally rewritten in SVN.
To set a custom resolution set r_width and r_height, the cvars changed.

I have now got everything back to usual with the mg svn, Guess I was still using the old r_customwidth and r_customheight on the TremFusion which it didn't seem to like. :)
