Hi im new

Hey im new to tremulous, I have played for a little bit and i like it.
Please give me tips  ;D

are there any mods that i should download?

and also, is it just me or does human weapons lag a bit, and is there a way to get rid of that?

Ok, I admit it. This is a good time for someone to show Player1's thread now.  :D

Anyways, nice to have you on the Tremulous community. For mods the first thing you could get is a client because clients will potentianlly help you play without any 'vanilla' bugs.

I think this is where he download is, I'm not quite sure if its the 'mod' or the client itself:

Its you man, totally you. Probaly its just your PC acting up. Or its just how fast the model animations go, I dunno.

Look around the forums for tips, read the manual, have fun. We really should have an 'Introduction Section' in the forums for posts like these.

http://www.trem-servers.com for a client that is a bit more up to date than TJW's client, but does not have the supposed Tremulous-destroying goal that TremFusion has.

It's not my favorite client at all, and one can never have too much information! I also think you are mistaken the word 'whoring' for 'pushing'.

Maybe someone could make a sticky listing all the clients, just like there is a sticky for HUDs or Mods. Then we could skip the advocacy in each unrelated thread.

Whoring may not have been perfect but I think it was close enough. You were in essence trying to sell him your clients for the low, low price of nothing.

People do seem to ignore the stickies a lot, it's quite a shame since there's so much information in them.

Hey MaverickSoul, get used to us discussing matters of the utmost importance, without regard for the actual topic of the thread, while if there is no topic present, we will make sure it will obtain one.

@YourMama: Now, if someone would help out Khalsa, and point him the direction to a sane way of increasing the probability of the stickies to be read, we could subdue yet another minor aggravation.

Great, I un-intentionally started a friggin' client war. Awesome, just what this thread needs.  :-\

Anyways, Maverick, are you new to the actual 'tremulous game' or just new to the forums? If your new to the game, I suggest looking at the stickies in each section, I'm pretty sure that will bring you 5 steps closer from being a newbie, also, have you read the manual yet? If not, srys for assuming so. :P

The Trem Wiki has some good info as well.  And the format is a little less shitty.

At a certain other forum I haunt, they would do exactly that.  Though the text would be 48pt, bolded red, non-blinking, and minorly insulting ("To all the dipshits doing so-and-so, blah blah blah or your ass will be banned".

It seems to work fine, because nobody ever asks those questions.
