Organizing a mod team!
« on: October 29, 2008, 04:39:32 am »
Hello I am attempting to create a mod team to mod things such as, flying alien class, more weapons, things like that. Basically a super mod(because if I don't do it my self god knows no one else will). If you would like to join the team I am trying to make please contact me at starwarswins@yahoo.com.

Please note: I can not mod, I have tried but i cant even open the source code(i can imagine modeling could only be worse!).

I would suggest that you forget trying to put together a "mod team" until you have some skills yourself, otherwise, why would people join your group?

I agree. This seems like a case of the blind leading the blind.

You're welcome to join the Tremfusion team and work on porting those mods to Tremfusion.

Bump! - you have just hit against the wall.
Now heres the brutal truth. No one will follow you unless you had some fame in modding community.
Humans are not logical creatures, keep that in mind.

I would join Amanieu, but i dont know what is he planning to do and whether im welcomed with my skills(blah) or not...

I've been pretty lazy with regards to making a solid timeline with a list of things to do for Tremfusion. I really should get to it though. :)

 1. Thanks for your support tremulous modding comunity.  >:(  ???

 2. The reason that I am trying to do this is
A. No one else is realy adding things to the game other than trem x, but the aren't making new things anymore and it seems like the other mods are only slightly improving the game itself (I.E. Tremfusion).
B. If I don't oganize it no one else will!

 3. I am only trying to help!  :-\

I am not asking people to work for me, I am asking them to work with me. I would only direct the mod.

.....Wow, I hope you will understand now why no one will join you now.  ;)

Learn how to make/compile a Qvm in the guides around the forum, the first step to show your committed to make a mod is to actually find these guides.

NO! I am just saying that i want to organize a team because it seems like no one is actualy making a mod that ADDS NEW THINGS TO THE GAME! Which is what mods are for, and i figure that if I don't organize a team for it no one else will!   :'(

Also I HAVE tried to code! It is just I can't even manage to download it because the instalation is so fucking complicated!  >:(

If I did manage to get a mod team I would be setting up our website and things like that.  ;)

P.S. They wouldn't be working for me they would be working with me:)

P.S.S. Please don't flame me I am only trying to help!  :(

Ambush mod does not add new things to the game? Domination mod does not add new things to the game? Tremx does not add new things to the game? Portal mod does not add new things to the game? Relic mod does not add new things to the game? Did I forget anything?

Relic, Domination, tremX, are either already done or are alredy finished with thier main fetures.

I think portal mod already has a portal gun, am i correct because i have played a server that has one?

Ambush mod already has a good ortion done i belive as far as the stages and ambushes go.

Besides most of these mod other than tremX and portal mod just change the game itself, I want to start a mod that adds new weapons, upgades, aliens, and abilitys to the game.

Tremfusion is always looking for idea to improve the game. Actually, Tremfusion will probably become a set of separate mods, which will contain different stuff, such as a mod with the portal gun, a mod just like 1.1, etc. Feel free to contribute ideas here.

If you cannot install trem, you cannot...
a.) make a mod team
b.) make a website
c.) lead a mod team
The definition of 'working with' someone is doing the same things as them. Telling someone "Ok, today you shall code x. I want it by 3:00" is not working with someone.

He never said anything about installing Tremulous, but I'm sure everyone here agrees with the basic sentiments of your post.

Well, I interpreted that to mean that he can't install trem, though I guess you could interpret that otherwise.

I imagine he'd installed Tremulous or he wouldn't make this thread. After all, who wants to mod a game they can't play?
