Personally I think that the internet is no place for political/religious discussion. It just leads to people ranting on about what they "feel is right", which basically translates into "agree with me or shut the fuck up".

In short: I fucking hate threads like this.

Also, I'm Australian, and we didn't put up some thread about Rudd vs. Howard, did we?

I didn't register but if I was going to vote it would be for McCain.  Simply because if Obama wins my dad's business dies and he loses his house.  Which kind of fucks over my entire family.  *woot for democracy*  *lets take hard earned money and give it to people who sell food stamps for achohol.*

I see your way fully, but the fact is your dad can pay that and he is the minority,  Obama needs to be president to help our economy and every thing, if you vote for McCain your basically greedy (which well its a bit harsh to say about your dad if hes voting McCain) if your middle class or poor and you vote for McCain your retarded , this election isn't about taxes, its about saving America. I came back from my little vacation in Haiti just so I could vote(well it wasn't really a vacation, we were trying to figure out how to get more jobs down there in the districts, 70% of the population is in the army now, used to be 98%, luckily theres 100% employment at the moment and now ones poor by our standards. though those catholic terrorist attacks aren't helping, luckily we haven't had anyone die, yet... :() if he doesn't win that means less money to build an economy for us.. in fact we may actually have to help you guys out if theres a huge depression or something, at least they'll loosen there intrest rates on us...

I agree with a valid attempt at redristributing the wealth, but obama's plan actually hurts more than it helps.  My dad is not the minority and no he can't handle a tax increase.  He'll have to fire one of his employees and start working 20 more hours a week.  There are so many jobs that are from small businesses.  Like construction and any franchise.  Since the majority of big company small earners are out of country.  Places like wal mart wont take a hit from it.  They have plenty of cheap labor from china.  There are so many jobs at jeapordy from obama's plan though.  Think about every time you go get a hair cut, buy a pizza, get water from a water store, go to an arcade, any little shop in a mall.  All those jobs are at risk with this kind of tax rate.  Imagine if one person lost their job in everyone of those small businesses around you.  That would be millions of jobs.

EEAK yea that might be bad, but yes the richer population of america is the minority, but then again why does your dad have to fire a guy? he wont get middle class money?? i doubt it... i would probably be like i am now if Obama became president and i had owned what ever busness he owned.

@kozak6: Hopefully, getting the matching funds we need to mount a real third-party campaign in 4 years won't take too much of the vote away from the Guy Who Ain't George W's Crony from Arizony. I salute your courage. If you live in a swing state, consider the implications of such clear-eyed idealism.

Wow, thank you.

I was expecting a diatribe about wasting my vote.

Because its not my dad personally that gets the tax increase, its his business.
I've only answered this like 8 times.  A business owner can't afford to let profit decrease, especially if its already so small(being 20 to 25k a year in my dad's personal case).  So if taxes increase, profit drops, in turn to keep personal profit liveable, he has to drop expenses.  He has to pay his business rent for his lot, no if and or buts, he has to replace the products he sells, no if and or buts, he has to pay his taxes, and he has to pay miscelaneous costs that come up almost no if and or buts.  His only place he can cut down, is labor.  Which means cutting back hours/getting rid of one of his guys.  So he gives less money out in the labor deparment, so that he can keep his personal profit high enough to eat/afford house payment/rent.

The problem with obama's plan, is it does not target the minority.  Because it does not only target individual income, it targets businesses.  Small businesses(including jobs they supply) are tons of americas working class income.  A huge percentage.  There is millions of small businesses all over the country.  Every pizza hut, little ceaserz, barber shop, and etc will take a hit from this kind of tax implication.  If you think the recession we're in now is bad, watch what obama will do to us.  Not only will the increase effect big companies which are already crashing and needed 800b bail out.  It will strike small already struggling businesses and destroy millions of jobs.  If mccain wins, I have no clue what will happen and I'm sure we'll struggle.  I can almost guarantee, however, a depression or at least a solid increase in this recession of obama wins.

We gave 800 billion dollars to big struggling businesses, so now he wants to increase their tax and make it even more stressing on them?  They are the ones causing the recession so if anything we should try to stabalize them, not stress them and expend them further.

On top of that throw more debt onto small businesses and cuase probably 25% of them to straight up shut their doors and the rest to cut back on labor/fire people.  Not only will it strain the entire economy greatly, it will cause at least a 5% increase in unemployment.

In the long term there is small chance that it could work out better?  (doubtful)

Obama said the republican campaigns defense against him is that he's "risky."  Calling it a mock of an attack and not proving anything.

I think american are overlooking these risks.  Almost guarenteed increase in strain on the economy and the possibility of millions of jobs disapating.  I personaly don't classify that as "risky."  I clasify it as "dangerous and unrealistic."

Sadly, the best route is to take the lesser evil.  Since all us politics are corrupt and ineffective.

In case you hadn't noticed over the course of the last few years, I have no respect for any of you, or your lameass opinions.  I'll give you my 2 cents anyway, in case any of you naive motherfuckers are pathetic enough to have your opinions affected by something you read on a gaming forum posted by some guy you don't know:

Just the fact that people like you who spend 40+ hours a week videogaming and surfing the web are voting for Obama should clue any intelligent person in to the fact that he's a poor choice.  The "Poverty-Stricken" who are pawning their food stamps off for alcohol?  I'd wager most of you looney-tunes fit into that category, and those who don't still live in their mother's basement.

Get off your ass, get a job, and vote for someone who can handle a country.  Socialism has been proven to fuck countries in the ass, I don't see why any of you feel we're an exception.

Vote McCain, or get bent.

Oh please, that was not a reflex.  Only two days to go before Election Day, so I figured I'd do my part to appease the "Election Gods" so that they, in all their wisdom, would grant my candidate success, and cause Obama to choke on his own pork spending.

I only pray I succeeded.

Anyway I voted early, for Obama. He seems better than McCain in most qualities other than foreign policy experience, but personally I wish we'd be pussies and gtfo of iraq.

too many words

'nuff said

Too bad 85% of the 100 to 200k incomes is business not personal.
So people making under that get bigger tax breaks with obama but literally 25% or more of them lose their job.

If someone came up to you and said here is the deal.  You get to pick one of these.  You get a small tax cut to help ya out.  That is plan A.  Plan B is you get a huge tax cut, but you lose your job because the owner of where you work gets a huge tax increase.  So, you're going to lose your job and along with millions of others and 10s of millions of others are going to get their hours/pay cut.

What would you pick?

Obama engineered the death of his grandmother to garner sympathy votes from the electorate hours before his election

Do we want a man who is willing to KILL HIS OWN FAMILY to further his political aims in the white house?

His grandmother was probably preparing to launch a suicide mission anyway like the muslim terrorist she was. Vote McCain tomorrow, save the country from the terrorists.

My fellow Americans, I feel I must reach across the aisle, in a bipartisan spirit, and offer you this olive branch of peace. The elite wants us to fight about the puppets they propose as pro- and antagonists each election cycle, a Great Game muck akin to Wrestling Entertainment, and almost as relevant to who really owns the world.

They own both teams, the ballpark, the refs, the bookies, the parking lot, and the factory that makes the cotton candy. Enjoy the game!
