Wanted: Skilled 2D Artist

Howdy,

I am in need of a good 2D artist who is able to dedicate some spare time to help out with some Tremulous and other FOSS game materials.

Ideal candidate will be fluent in either Photoshop and Illustrator, or Gimp and Inkscape. If it is the latter, please have the ability to make things created in Gimp and Inkscape work and show up properly in their proprietary counterparts.

Will be working on several projects in an international team of generally unaffiliated people, so ability to be awake 24 hours is a plus.

Must be on any of the following: IRC, Y! chat, ICQ, AIM, Skype, Jabber, or Gtalk.

Some sample of your badass works will be a plus!

You will be working on things that directly benefit Tremulous and other Free Open Source Games.

I have a question.
What sort of work would this artist be doing?
HUDs, Icons, map textures, model textures, backgrounds, menus, any or all of the above?

The work spans several projects. The most prominent at this time being some website graphics (banners, buttons, header images etc.)

There is also some backgrounds, wallpapers, and other small things.

Lastly there might be some need for custom textures, but those will be needed at a later date.

I wouldn't mind helping, but I'm rarely on IRC etc., I'm not very familiar with Illustrator, and I have the gross misfortune to not be affected by caffeine.

It would be very nice to make tremulous related stuff, while i'm not sure about the "other FOSG" part.
My spare time varies in an extremely chaotic pattern, so i can't really promise anything, but i'm here during the day (and mostly on #tremulous irc) and i gladly help in any questions about drawing, using illustrator, photoshop or animating in flash(no script), as i use them quite a lot to make my living.

I'd be willing to help too. As far as being up for 24 hrs...well let's just say we should remember I have a life But besides that I can be on IRC, Gtalk, MSN, and AIM...but not all the time. What would be the time requirements? Like would you need to get something done NOW or like finish by the end of the week? I can say I've had some experience with website graphics (designed a wiki for a class) and I've used GIMP almost a year now. Let me know the time requirements...that and life/work is the only thing really keeping me questioning...

I have no life and will be on about 24 hours i am not that good at photoshop or making icons (or anything else) but i can learn and if no one else is online then maybe i could be a little helpful. Eventually i will get better.

Well, I talked to Exclamation about this ingame, but I'll post here too.  I have a friend who does excellent drawing (any medium: charcoals, murals on walls, ink, graphite) in his spare time, and played a little bit of Tremulous with me in High School.  I can put you in contact with him, but he's a busy guy.  You can reach me by PM if/when you decide you'd like to draft his help.  (I have e-mail, facebook, MSN, and phone number of his that I might be able to give you)  Or, if you'd prefer to hunt him down on your own, his pen-name/internet alias is "Anansi."
