Do you want to make a map?

Ok, so I enjoy playing tremulous, do it whenever I can. Well I just recently got around to the idea of making a map of my own. Since I didn't have time to do it at home, and could not install GTKRadiant anywhere else, I soon gave up. But I do get to use Google SketchUp often. So as of now I have (what i think to be) a really good map design made in SketchUp, and would really like to see it made for tremulous, even if only for me. So I am asking anyone in the Tremulous community if they are interested in taking my design from SketchUp and creating a true tremulous map from it! That would make my day for sure! The only thing I ask is that the person who accepts this, if anyone does, gives me credit for the design idea. Thats it. And they can modify it a little bit in some places, or as needed for it to work in Tremulous. I just really want to see this become a map for Tremulous.

So if anyone is interested, give me a yell and I will either send you a picture or the SketchUp file on request!

P.S.~I was hoping someone with a good knowing of map making to try this one, as there are some things i would think could be challenging. IE Elevators, ladders, and or lifts.

Sorry I took the pictures in a hurry but there you go. Basically it is three floors, basement has default base, 1st floor has the 5 rooms and big open areas, and big areas lead to above, the arena room (i call it, lol)
I'm not sure if this is even really a good level idea, but I liked it.

Np, the thing mappers usually lack isnt ideas but time. By posting up here if its exceptional you may get someones time for free :)

So the pictures and the file link are up (wishing on the link..) The pictures are rushed, so everything is hidden, you get an idea though. This is downright simplified, no textures, no eyecandy, just the skeleton. Open to Ideas

Its still not totally done, like today i extended the bottom level rooms, and added the wall in front of where the middle level goes to the bottom level. I also have started making actual game pieces, IE turrets, acids, reactor, and (heaven help me) Overmind. I think i will just leave a placeholder for the om. thats all the things im adding are, proposed places for default game.

Also, If anyone is interested in getting a better look at the map, just email me at byrinboy16@gmail.com and i will reply with attached up to date map. The link will be too hard to keep updated.

And cactusfrog, if you want to, i don't mind anyone using it for a contest, just a mention on my name for concept would be lovely haha. I would love it to be entered into a contest! that was actually my original idea.

Well its a good thing this map has two current ways to get to other side (and three if you include both sides of the upper level :P) And i had been thinking on another..(tunnels/crawlspace)

Also, just changed middle photo to the turrets i made, haha got bored.

Just in case you were wondering, I kinda got parts of idea from ATCS, since thats where im usually playing, but i wanted to try something new. Haha.

There is still only 1 true way, just because there are little walls in the way doesn't change that. It's an interesting idea, and I encourage you to continue work on it, but trust me, camping will ensue, and games will get nowhere with the current layout you have.

I still don't see exactly what you mean. And camping will happen in every game, minus one where it is just open space. Now on the top story there is the big open area with the walls in middle (to prevent human advantage) and then the next level down has the hallways. I was also planning on having crawlspaces in the bottom-most level, and in other places.

But if you could better try to tell me what it is that should be fixed, and I can try to fix it. I would reccomend viewing the SketchUp file first though, if you havent, cause they aren't very good pictures.

Awesome! Im looking forward to it!! Honestly I dont care if its even a good map, even though i think it is, i just want to see my idea on my screen haha. I play lan games with friends sometimes so ill use it then. Btw, feel free to do whatever textures you want, and if you tell me your email ill send my latest sketch file.

my current progress on halls downstairs, i only made 2 rooms but ill make the other two asap, then after that i am down with the lower part minus the lighting
