I like the newer one you might be considering using, I tested this on my crap 713Mhz PC and it runs just fine, its also nicer too look at, loads quickly, and it has personality (The animated header at the top is a Plus). Since I surf forums a lot and I can highly recommend with experience to use the new forum as your default, as the current one looks bland, ugly, and dead. Well, good luck on your forum, thats my suggestion.

After a bit of searching, I've found out Syntac is right. Lonly, the blender icon is copyrighted, so unless you have some sort of license to use it, your can be sued by Blender for copyright infringement. I suggest modifying/replacing the SMF theme so you can avoid this situation. Also, check if the layout took any other related copyrighted logos/pictures.

They are both pretty ugly frankly. Keep searching is my advice.

I must concur. Unless someone really likes boring and gray, in which case either is just as ugly as the other.
