Is there a way to disable the use of a certain weapon?

Unfortunately, no. As far as I've known, the Tremulous devs has not created a manual function that could disable weapons in the game. QVM Developers has easily managed to do this, like doing this: "!disable hendrich lgun" just like how a player runs out of ammo for a weapon and such. To which exact .Qvm does this function has, I do not know. I've only seen this in a clan server, unfortunately.

Anyone with the p-g-qvm can enable denyweapon on his server. If you like to deny certain weapons for everyone you could call a .cfg file either at your demand or everytime at map start.

Thanks Bissig, heres a link to Paradox's customizable .Qvm:

Direct link to the download:
http://p-g-qvm.googlecode.com/files/p-g-qvm-1.6.5.zip

Its been taken from:

All credit goes to Paradox and his/her team.

A link to all the documented features for this Qvm:
http://code.google.com/p/p-g-qvm/wiki/Features
(I believe its !denyweapon lgun/shotgun/etc. Better put it into a .cfg ;) )

In case you don't already know how to launch a server with this .qvm, heres a link to the sticky (Kinda obvious since the sticky is above this topic):

I think this should solve the problem. Cheers.
