Hello,
I thought this was a perfect community to tell about a new video that I have made as part of the
opening announcement of my new web site, GameLapse.com, since the video is actually a machinima made using Tremulous. It's available on
youtube.
I will be writing a tutorial about how to make a simple machinima using Tremulous on Linux and post the link here for anyone interested. But in short, I started two clients, one as a spectator and another as a player and recorded demos in them. Then I used
GLC to capture those demos and
kdenlive to edit it all together. It's really not that complicated if you aren't going to do anything more complex (like trying to move the camera AND the character at the same time (in that case you'll either need to script it somehow or have a friend on multiplayer "holding the camera" (spectating) while you act, or vice versa.
Perhaps that encourages more people to make machinima in Linux, using Tremulous, which seems best suited for Linux machinima at this point. Of course, I also hope this video attracts some people to my new site too.

But either way, even if the site isn't a big success, if I can get people to make more buzz with Linux games by making movies in them, I'm still happy!

Let me know what you think.
