So what? Can it be helped? Can we just go in there and tell everybody "HEY, UR CLAN SUCKS CUZ IT AIN'T L33T GTFO!"? Of course we can, and we do, but does it do any good? Is there any real clans for any game out there in the internet? What does it take for a clan to be "real"?

Sorry Tex, but I find this topic to be quite useless, you have noone to blame on because nobody can take all the blame here, so it looks like your attacking Tremulous as a whole when clans are based on people- not the game.

Not all clans are a joke, like AoD, vR, ACR, AA, etc. I'm sure there will be dis-agreements to what I just exemplified, but clans like these help different people in their own way.

Clans are just scrimmages between other clans, "real" clans help shape communities and boosts positive attitudes towards others. Yes, that means even clans that takes in noobs are good ones if they help the said newbies. Competitive clans develops new skills for players and helps keep the community active and have fun participating as a member. Fake/retarded/unwanted clans that are there for shits and giggles and has poor guidance are the ones that breaks down most often.

But then again, I'm taking this too seriously, so I apologize to you. What do you (or anyone) think we should do about it?

And this sir, is why you will never be apart of the clan scene, no matter how much you spam the clan forums. You have been fed too much of Power's =Void special. Clans are not black and white, they support whatever cause they feel important. Maybe someday you'll realize the meaning to "internet community."

While I agree to an extent, every clan has a different purpose. These clans that pop up all the time are built on same founding for the most part. Who cares if they aren't scrim active and die after a day? At least they're trying. It's not like the people making them will get considered for the clans you consider important anyway. There is no reason to mock them, different people are meant for different things. Guys like you belong in the "big tuff guy clan", guys like me belong in the "I think I'm special when I'm actually shit clan", and guys that make clans that die the next morning belong in their own clans. Play and let play?

No, duck, you can only see one character. Anybody else with a fairly up-to-date client can see the name just fine. The people that we want there, are there. They could figure out the difference between A and A<3. I guess you couldn't. Hint: our blaster does not one-shot kill a rant. kthxbai
