Your link, it does nothing.

Since 1983 is quite simply an unarguable 5/5, here's something different.

I <3 the Mars Volta, but it seems that every drummer they recruit can never live up to the caliber of the previous one.

Indeed, they're going to go through an awful lot before they find another to equal jon.

4.5/5. Gojira is awesome, and Backbone, in particular, has some awesome riffs.
And my rebuttal:

First: Insomnium is an automatic minimum of 4/5. This one gets another half a point, so 4.5/5.
Second: 5/5, if only for the chorus. "DRINKING IS GOOD FOR YOU! Engrish about how good drinking is for you!"
Thoughts on my link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xLGuSAfBiw)?

Haven't heard this before. :P

For me, 3.9. Reason; need to listen more of this. Didn't fully convince me to listen band, but I'll keep this in my mind.

My first slice I gave was the lightest music taste of my own. Now the heaviest section of my music selection.
I like this band because they make very unusual music, in my opinion.

Meshuggah - Bleed
Meshuggah - Acrid Placidity

They've earned their name... Try "Aztec Two-Step" for some real nightmare fuel, though.

Bringing it back to some light shit.

Helloween - Mr. Torture

Symphony X - Paradise Lost

Helloween, replaced Dragonforce for my power metal needs. Symphony X has the perfect mix of heavy and light metal. Mixes good lyrics with sexy guitar riffs. One of my A+ Bands, along with Gojira.

Pazuzu

Mister Torture gives pain
To the housewives in Spain
He knows just what they crave, Mr. Torture...

Can't wait for the new album. In the meantime, I've discovered Masterplan, which has two of the people who played on that song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CE-eNUW8vI

As for ratings, 4.5/5 and 3.5/5 (power ballads from almost any band are cheesy as hell, and SymX has far better songs on that album- Walls of Babylon comes to mind)

kharnov

Hippie music, you say. Okay.

This is a lot more bluesy.

Meshuggah - Bleed
Meshuggah are fast becoming musical gods. Music theorists and all of those important people with fancy names I can't remember, are reviewing meshuggahs music, and they're stumped by it. These guys actually have some songs in time signatures in (4+1/2)/4. It's about time we got some progressive in here.
