Human player models
« on: July 18, 2009, 03:31:45 am »
Don't flame me seriously...

If this has already been osted someone send me the link please.

I've not been playing trem long, so yes you could call me a noob, but one thing i did notice while playing. EVERYONE CALLS ME "HE". I'm sorry I'm not a "he". All the players and the Console call me a he. What females can't play this game also? So I was wonder if we could make a player female marine. (You don't have to due to the fact that if you're an aliens it always calls you "it" which is more tolleratable then "he".) Change it would be simple by pressing "ESC" going into options under where you have your name. Have a gender setting that changes it from "Male" to "Female". I just really am getting tired of everyone calling me "he" or "him" and having thing like "Jade killed himself".

Yes, I'm whining, I'm allowd.

Does it really matter? Really? Not that I don't want Tremulous to be "tolleratable" for everyone, but does it actually matter?
Why will you folk not ban me? :'(

(This kind of post has been known to result in 6 pages of crap.)

Here are some failed/abandoned attempts.

There was a bug to use the right pronouns (iirc, did not work correctly) and add a menu item but nothing came of it since it is misleading without models, which are a very low priority. The cvar (/setu sex female) exists; it is ignored.

Of course, if you can make a good model, that might help to remedy the situation.

Thats what we need, helpful players, not more powerful admins.

Not really, but i would find it more approprate to be refered to as "her" instead of "he". Though it proably wouldn't matter either way. :-\

Offtopic-ness: I've not been in this fourm long enough to learn how to do the multi quotes so; I'll do this by numbers.

First off: Hah! "community"?

Secondly: Yeah I have nothing to say to that...

Third: I fail at doing anything on the comp, not to mention my computer is crap so i doubt it will run anything to allow me to do anything on anything, also even if i did manage to get it running; "me" making a model for something I barely understand would come out horribly... It would be just awful...

Fourth: /setu sex female .... I'll remeber that, though it may not help much. But I can see why this would be such a hard thing to do. (I can't even create said model in the first-place, so I don't really have the right to tell others to do it.) So all we can do is wait I guess...

Just awful...

Oh well. Now you just have to worry about the gender thing in addition to being a mirror image of your fellow marine.

Welcome to cloneus. :D

Edit. They probably didnt have any female marine stock to clone from. :(
maybe the future is very gender discriminating. :/
heh
