A LEGO tribute to Tremulous
« on: September 12, 2009, 05:54:41 pm »
Hello everyone!
I'm not new to Tremulous, even if I have just created an account on the forum right now.
Maybe you already met me ingame, my nick: (Nova|D@ve)
For a week I got bored and decided to make a LEGO versions of some parts of the Tremulous universe.

I'm sure all of you know about LEGO, so I'll stop wasting your time and I give you the link of my current work:
http://picasaweb.google.com/PhoenixOfNightfall/LEGOTremulous?feat=directlink

Tell me what you think about it, maybe you don't care about LEGO but you surely care about Tremulous so how do you think this looks?
Please, be frank.

D@ve

PS: The Overmind doesn't look good for now, it's a quickly made one, an early prototype.
PS²: Don't bother the sheep plush you can see on one of the pictures, it's a gift from my girlfriend.

That's surprisingly impressive, especially considering what you have to work with.
The Granger is cool :).

Another David! ;-)
Thanks for your comment, apart from the alien classes, other things are mainly prototypes that could be changed or made better if people say they are not well made.

For exemple the node is a problem as you can't make the blue "holograms" on it. Instead of letting the node an assembly of 3 simple blue plates, I added some glasses as you can see on one picture, I didn't know if you would like it, and... actually I still don't know... x)
Do I have to change something? What do you think about the node, bsuit, etc? I'm not sure if I made them very well. (Especially those 2...)

LEGO does not always suit good for making things, but that's not a reason to not trying to do things that looks like they were real.
I also tried to work with proportions as best as I could, I think I did it correct, not perfect but not awfully bad, what do you think about it?

I find the basilisk well made. ;)

Hi!
Thanks for your comments!
I've added 19 pics to my gallery.
I don't know why, but Google Photos didn't let me set a name to three of the 26 pics.
These unnamed pics should be labbeled as "Building on ATCS".
I really don't like the reactor but I was currently unable to do better. Maybe some of you have an idea?
I managed to modify the OM, what do you think about it Colynn?
What do you think about weapons? And what about the DC? I think it is too small...
Still wondering if you think node and bsuit are well made...?

Nice, I like the alien classes most, especially basilisk.
RC needs to be thicker tho.

I'll soon work on goon and tyr but actually I have no idea on how I would make them.
I have a problem for the tyrant anyway, I think I wont have enough dark grey LEGO parts, maybe I'll use light frey ones (the same as the walls), but I don't think it will suit well... =S
First I want to rework OM and RC ;-)

I have worked on a better OM and RC but I didn't have time to take pics so coming soon.
Pics from hive and booster also coming soon.
I have made the acid tubes a little bigger and I tried to make a correct egg but I'm still struggling with it... =/
