It is free. I wish it had first person view support though. I wonder if the dev team knows about gloom or tremulous. Probably they dont.

theres a first person mode. Search around and im sure you'll be able to find the command.

A lot of people are having issues with running the game. It seems that the game refuses to run on some cards.
Here is their forum thread, and here is a possible fix.

Valve is just taking their sweet time with patching the game. It seems fun though.

yeah, my radeon x1650 handled the "offline practice" just fine, though that elevator swarm attack was a bit laggy

Multiplayer is iffy, and I'm not the only one having issues. Other than that, it seems good (other than that annoying view), and I want the Alien Swarm Parasite hat for TF2!

I wonder if anyone else experiences random exits to main menu. Happens to me few times (max 3 I believe) each time i run the game. No matter if I'm already in game or on briefing, just boom! and you see the title screen.

My Nvidia 6200 runs it a bit lousy, but I can get used to it, as in some levels it's not that bad. Great game, just wish it had more campaign. First person? Hell no!!! That would fuck up the whole game. Use Adrenaline if you like first person.

Agreed, but its a neat game where you look down on yourself.  But it isn't like Tremulous, imho.

They must have patched the multiplayer issues. It works fine now, and I love it. The people are mostly good too, they're just there to have fun.

Steam running through wine would be *ridiculously* laggy.  Native steam running on my mac is laggy as is.

Runs fine for me on Linux.
