if they have helm or use a door way, you can't easily touch him.

if you got flamer, shoot the floor. the splash damage can get him killed before you do.
I'll ask again, have you ever played against a skilled basi?

of course, after S1 they hit a comparatively low ceiling in terms of effectiveness like the dretch.

Clearly SirDude is far superior tthan anyone here. He is the only person who can always beat a lisk 1-on-1, and he does it with omnipotent ease.

Your radar argument is invalid too, by the way. A radar can be fooled easily. 1) Radar doesn't update instantly. 2) Radar doesn't tell you which alien you're facing. 3) Radar doesn't tell the human what you're going to do (for example, radar tells the human you're on ground, but you can hop quickly to the ceiling and jump down behind him and slash to death) 4) A human doesn't always watch the radar, if he's having his full concentration fighting other aliens for example.

Also, basilisk is the best support class throughout the game. Try a basilisk+tyrant combo for example. Basilisk heals, gasses (slows and disorients) and grabs humans, tyrant finishes. Awesome combination.

Basilisk grab + charging tyrant = instant roadkill.

Honestly? I am terrible at this game, and I can use the basi with relative ease. It and the mara were actually skill based in 1.1, now I can play both of them easily. STOP COMPLAINING.

1) most people sprint everywhere, it updates fast enough.
2) it doesn't have to, if its on a wall its going to be dretch,basi,granger.
3) its doesn't have to.
4) any good human looks at the radar every few seconds, its just too useful not to.

5) enjoy your very boring gameplay style, support classes need to be fun.
see that you ignored the fact that i did.

So would you say that a basilisk lurking around a corner from s2 on would be generally ineffective?

Implement it yourself, put it on your own server, test results, submit patch.
EDIT: On another note, try playing as a 1.1 basi. Send me you tears in a bottle, they'll be delicious.

It doesn't work well against bsuits, and you absolutely have to move when people catch on to you. If people get too paranoid about basis lurking around corners, you have to find another tactic.

So it could theoretically work IMO, but only if people never caught on.

send me a photo of you're reaction when you realize that humans can't dodge in 1.1 thus making it easier

1.1 basi was easily the hardest class to master. Its really tough to get any good.

you think your good for getting into EBSF? hahahahaha. That made my day.
Basis are actually a great class that can rape by itself or in groups. I would definitely run away from 5 lisks then 5 goons.

The usefulness of your posts appear to be very limited as well. It's obvious no one is able to convince you basilisk actually isn't bad at all for one evo so it's better to stop posting and end this here.

Hey, I sucked, but at least the message is clear.

Basilisk isn't useless.

Lol, this explains why you were playing as basi all of yesterday (I was wondering what was going on :))

but its usefulness is very limited.

No, the basi is very powerful, and for only one evo.  A skilled basi will now almost always win in any 1v1 situation, unless the human has a bsuit.

Now that's not very true. The basi would almost lose any encounter. It's not a fighting class anymore, it's support.

And to answer one of SirDude's unsaid posts, basilisk is meant for 1vs1's. I've done a couple 1vs2 where i was the basilisk and won. Ive also had once an epic battle with ams on tape where i kill him as a bassy.
Dretch --> Troll
Basilisk --> 1/2vs1
Marauder --> I dunno, but i think a big group
Goon --> 1/2/3vs1
Rant --> 3/4/5
so, to use something that costs 1/2 evos to kill a fully armed ams is NOT overpowered.
I recommend you go on KoRx where the basilisk is OP and has a grab range of like 150 and can cloak.
these are stupid suggestions, don't even waste our time.
I don't like your negative attitude.

Negative, i have seen single basilisks dismantle 3 man raiding parties, and i have also seen basis shot dead before even getting near its opponent, as with pretty much everything it is all down to the player. Players who aren't good at something will always try to blame that 'something' for their own shortcomings.
