DNF has been in development (supposedly) for 14 years now. DNF is a sequel, not an update. It's case is so famous that it's hard not to find at least a brief mention of DNF in any sort of explanation of what vaporware is. The letters themselves can stand for 'Did Not Finish'.
So, when I say "If it aint perfect it, it aint worth it" I'm talking about how DNF is a game that is defined by the fact that it will never come out. That anyone who makes a game called DNF now will be doing so because they're aware how well known it is and want to profit from that. The only way they can avoid disdain for trying to cash in on what has become part of gaming history is if the game were absolutely superb.
1.2 isn't anything like that. 5 years (at very most) in development. It's just an update to an existing game. It's less known than this forum is. There's no possibility of cashing in on an open source project.
