the 2 N words

so, i havent seen anyone say the second N word, but heres my topic.
The first N word, many of you know as a racial discrimination word to people with darker skin colour.
The second, which you guys will never think about, but you all know, is the name of the german troops during World War 2.
So, is the 2nd N word a muteable offense? It is a racial discrimination word to Germans. I would like it t be a muteable offence.

N(igger) refers to all "people with darker skin colour", so it's taboo.
N(azi) isn't a discrimination, it's an ideology.

You may as well prohibit the typed use of reference to any religion.

If someone is really serious about calling someone a nazi, then perhaps that would fall under harassment, but personally I'd rather not grow a long list of "banned words", it would just be lame if we had to do that.

I guess....It isnt that it isnt a very bad word. jjust pretty bad, but if someone keeps using it in an offensive manner like all other words it would be bad.

Not really....he only thing people at my school say is Jew. Sometimes, people would call me a Nazi, but we usualy use the nazi thing as a joke. I just dpnt want this word  to be used offensifly.

Pretty much, admins don't need a list to run to to see if some one said a word that they should be muted for.  If that was the case, a censorship mod would be made to easily fix this.  Everything is in context and mutes/kicks/bans should be distributed while keeping this in mind.

It's all about how words are used and how sensitive people are to those words. You could apply the same logic to any number of words and by singling out this word you are discriminating against 'Nazi!'s.

Being offended is subjective. Anyone could claim to be offended by anything. Maybe if the word is used for the sole purpose of annoying/offending someone? AKA harassment & spam.

I think it's fair to say we all agree that the word shouldn't be a mutable offense in itself.

If a person has ass for brains and decides to annoy people then THAT is the offense, regardless of what words he uses.

If however we're in the grey area of offending people despite no intention to offend... Well, all I can say if your one of those people who are offended by me innocently saying a word in a public area and try to ban it, I find your attitude VERY offensive.

If you're doing this for the sake of others that might be offended, then you're showing admirable consideration and caring for people who have no self-discipline and feel as though everyone else has to suffer because of it.

I've been called a Nazi. I am from the country that suffered from the war one of the worst ways. Am I offended? No. I am not stupid enough to get offended so easily.
People's dumbness is their own problem. If they insult, well, you gotta callmute them. Or vote a kick/ask an admin to sort one out.
Or we should remove the chat feature at all. What if tomorrow some guy goes on the server and calls everyone a communist? We will ban the word?
And I didn't even mention fruit racism. Some time ago, I remember being continuosly called a banana.

I don't expect kids playing an online FPS to not insult one another, but when they feel that being black, gay or jewish, for example, is something negative and therefore a perfectly usable insult, that bothers me a little.
Of course some players only use nigger and faggot because they crave admin attention, but they do seem to get bored of mutes and kicks eventually, Iabz has actually been quite well behaved of late.
Anyway, i'm a nazi and will mute anything that i feel is inappropriate, on sight.

Furthermore, freedom of speech is just another ideal that just doesn't work in the extreme. It's the ideal that the western world is more proud of because our speech is more free than in other parts of the world.

Also, I find it funny that sometimes people can get so hung up about a word that they are blinded to the real problem. If a black person were to start threatening a white guy because he casually said 'Nigger'- perhaps quoting someone or talking about the word itself -the black guy is being the aggressive party, yet people will quickly decide the white guy is in the wrong for saying a bad word. It's ridiculous.
