Looking To Join a Clan

I'm Spartacas ingame, out of game I'm attempting to help with sound development in terms of music for Tremulous, and 22 years old in case anyone is wondering. I enjoy Tremulous a bunch, even though I rage more than is good for my health. A a human, this rage helps me go on a rampage. On an alien, it helps me feed humans as a lemming dretch. HOWEVER, not to say I'm a bad player. I'm a frequent FPS player and have turned out well in the end for the most part.

I used to play Trem a couple years back, and now I've returned. No one remembers me, of course, but oh well. I started again a little while ago after wanting to get more in-depth with Trem to realize what kind of style of music I should create, and I'm getting better with time. I play to have fun, find myself with higher scores on the Human team but I do enjoy a good rant run on occasion. I'm on 1.2, so if anyone would like to have me I would greatly appreciate it!  

[Edit] And yes, I realize the near-futility in such a post: "Dude, just go to one of the clan-sites and post an app." From the hugemongous list I've found a ton that are 1.1 only, or require pro-status, or some recruiters that turned out to be trolls. I figure at least this way someone will see my genuine interest and want ME as an active and communal member of their clan.

I asked about that (I'm another composer), and they're not looking for music. There are probably other open-source/indie games that do, though, so keep looking. Anyway, if you're sure you even want to be in a clan at all, the main clans in 1.2 (from what I can see) are Pk, Seeds, ddos (they're ub3rpr0; no offense, but don't bother), ++, NN, and NoS.

I don't think it's particularly futile, why go around a bunch of individual clan forums when you can just post here and have a good portion of the clans see your interest?

<Pack> is a completely new clan (less than a week old) started by a complete newbie with literally no experience running a clan in Tremulous. They don't have any members, barely have a clan thread, and haven't played any scrims. TheyHe is desperate for members, and is asking anyone to join that he can. You can probably do better than that. I'd suggest starting with Pk or NoS.

They don't have any members, barely have a clan thread, and haven't played any scrims. TheyHe is desperate for members, and is asking anyone to join that he can. You can probably do better than that. I'd suggest starting with Pk or NoS.

NoS is an older clan (few years old) started by a newbie with little experience.  They don't actually do anything, although some members are cool. I'm guessing he's looking for something more active but who knows.

To OP, take all offers with a grain of salt, any clan that offers to let you join without an app probably isn't worth bothering. Play in game and see if there are any members there you like who are in a clan, you will get the best idea by playing along with people.

No offense taken. I've played along people from ddos, and I had the fortunate timing to be on their team when the going got tough. They didn't lose a match. So yes, I'm certain that at my current stage I'm not ready for that ambition.

I'll check out these guilds mentioned and keep on truckin' through Trem to see what comes of it. Thanks for the tips!

As long as that makes sense to you. I'm a (relatively) casual gamer, so I don't really think I would join a clan at all, but at least you know why you want to.

Certain death, small chance of success. (It requires 100% approval, but applying is a win-win situation.  If you get declined, we can add another name to our declined list, and if you are accepted... well that's pretty neat.)

Will do, I will hop around. This week has been from hell I tell ya. I've got this Irish Literary Renaissance class coming up. Who the hell gives a flying crap about that?! Regardless, tired as hell, I was up until 5 on Trem configuring keybinds and changing the name color. Oddly enough, with my name color changed, I find i play better. Wtf, right?  

I may skip it, I don't know, but either way: see you in Trem!

If i've got easily recongnisable colours in my name i find kill confirmations far more helpful, so i wont wait for the alien's death animation to finish and just move on to the next target, at least that's my theory.

You could also try applying to increment, ++.  However, I recommend getting to know some of our members first though.  We're all friendly and don't care much about skill in game, however many of us are skilled in other areas, such as sound development or 3d modeling.  You can ask about us, or read about our clan on our forum: http://incrementclan.com/.  You can also stop by and talk on our irc channel, "##sexyrodents@freenode.net".  Be warned however, many of our active members are European.
