good-game/bad-game poll after a match ends

I hereby propose to have a poll after a game ends (humans win/aliens win/timelimit hit/evacuation ordered) where people can F1 for a "gg" or F2 for a "bg", where the votes are actually weighted:

• a vote from any member of the winning team counts as one vote
• a vote from any member of the losing team counts as two votes
• a spectator's vote counts as one vote
• in case of a draw/timelimit, every vote only counts as one, since there is no losing team

The reason why I suggest to count the votes of members of the losing team double is simple: It's pretty easy to enjoy a game if you actually win it, but only the games even the losers enjoy can really considered to be good ones.

What do you think?
I have retired from Tremulous. Definetely. If you play a game just because it has become a habit, but u'r only feeling like a kindergarten teacher - well, maybe I am just getting too old (hell, I was a teenager when DukeNukem3D was *new*) - it's probably not a bad idea to just let it be. And I do.

Don't take this personally. Have fun, guys.

I can't see this as a BAD idea, but plenty of people just want to move on to the next map, ASAP. I think it's a good idea, why not?

I think that's a hilarious waste of time, what does it matter if the losing team considers it to have been a bad game, how does knowing that help anyone?

Computergaming is a waste of time, so what? 8)

The reason why I'd value the voices of those who lost the match more is simple: The winners will much more likely enjoy the game, no matter how terrible it was because winning itself is an "emotional" benefit. So only if also the losers agree, the result for sure will be an honest one.

So, which match was so emotionally tearful that it led to the creation of this topic?

your face

I don't care if anyone else had a good or bad game, as long as I had a gg, all is ok.  Having a poll to tell me whether or not the game was good sounds dumb.  Sorry. ;P

spam spam spam, waste waste waste!

Why do you care what the other team thought of the match? Are you going to die a little inside if you don't find out? Most people don't need a poll, they're spamming gg or bg all over the endgame screen anyway.

That's what gave me the idea in the first place.

A poll won't stop them from spamming. How many "f1"s, "f2"s, "f12"s, etc do you see in the wake of a normal vote?

ok, can you give me the tool thingy app that can code?

Dr. A. Goon

I think that the idea falls flat when most people just want to move to the next map, and I really wouldn't give a shit about how everybody else feels whether my team won or lost. It would be good for pity parties though.

Cadynum

Bad idea. Wastes time for no apparent benefit.

It would be interesting to see a weighted vote for keepteams&setnextmap. Something with, at least, a bit of functionality; Giving the losing team their preference of map. It would be a useful feature for clanmatches. This idea, as it stands, serves no purpose to better the game and, as has been said, only gives people another to say what they're already saying (which, by the way, is generally just spam). On top of that, you seem to forget that this is Tremulous, and every game is bg for the losing team.  ::)

Have you experienced one? Usually one clan picks a map, and the other one another one.

It's been a few years, but yes. Alright, then, not for clanmatches, but for public games. Again, not to imply that I think this is necessary, or hell, even all that useful, but it's kinda nifty. I think moreso than the original idea, atleast.
