Hello fellow Tremulous Community. I have been falsely informed this week about the introduction to Tremulous GPP -> Tremulous 1.2. Many different people have been saying that it was suppose to be up and running today, and as I came on, I noticed, no update, no download or anything. Does anyone know approximately when it actually will come to the Tremulous Community.

From what my understanding is, they're waiting on three major things.

1.Sound Licencing (sounds to be redone)
2. New models from stannum
3. Updated UI

So as soon as these benchmarks are completed, then and only then will we see a real 1.2 release

1.  Our friend brandon redid all of them for the xreal port dretchstorm.  If someone can get in contact with him, it would be helpful.

2.  Need moar stannumuffins

3.  I'm working on icons for volt.  Should be done soon.

Technically you can download a 1.2 client or compile one yourself, however it still uses all the 1.1 models and sounds. The true 1.2 version of tremulous, may or may not be released some Thursday between now and the year 2040.

Actually, the original "Thursday" release date was from a dev a looooong time ago, I think the first time tremulous was to be released on thursday was here. Since then its been something of an overly-long running joke. At very least, it is widely known that tremulous is to be released on Thursday since at least 2006, although that particular post is in fact from 2003.

I think they should post a 'spoiler' visual mod first, and see what the public thinks of it. If its shit, then continure development. If it's good, then realease.

-BUT- (my complaints)
Gpp has soo many bugs still, and i think they should have a cg_unlagged 2 to use 1.1's unlagged system. It's too hard to pounce whore with high ping and i can run straight into a bsuit for a half a second (look at ur clock, i'm accurate about this) , then get off him, and he didn't take a single damage. I have to be constantly charging at his face for a whole second for it to work.

Also another thing i HATE about gpp is the marauder's maneuver. I want a setting where you could change it to 1.1's. Another one is the marauder's zap, instant is kinda noobish It should not be instant, as it is really unrealistic. Also, it said in the updates that you don't have to aim the zap. I tried on a devmap with a friend, i touched him, face the other way, zapped, nothing happened.

I'm having problems about the mouse, it changes the sensitivity from the system prefs back to normal/standard setting (macbook), and i have to set the /sensitivity to something like 90 and its movement is VERY SQUARISH. I can't shoot far with the lasgun anymore.

Yes, because since we like the luci model that means that the rest of the models are complete, right? Not to mention maps and sounds. Your logic is, as usual, infallible.

Yeah, no one likes high ping. You should be happy that Tremulous attempts to cater to higher ping players. I have detection problems in every other game when, on the rare occasion, my ping will spike to higher than 200 (damn folks on youtube). I'm 100 regular and I play fine because I find servers that give me low ping. Solution: Find a server that gives you low ping. Duh? No one likes 300+ers anyway.

Yes, 1.2 should contain the ability to switch all changed variables back to their 1.1 values. In fact, more than that, 1.2 should come with a modding API for server hosters so that they can easily compile QVMs with whatever values they want. 1.1 marauders speed? No problem. 1.3 marauder speed? Even better! You can do it all with 1.2.

Also, I agree with you about the zap being unrealistic. It's not like electricity travels instantly or anything.

I like ULTRA Random ViruS. He's a cool guy and doesn't afraid of logic.
