Porting Warsow 6.1 maps to Tremulous?
« on: December 03, 2011, 01:05:43 am »
Warsow 6.1 has really nice maps and layouts, and there's a big big bunch of maps, not to mention it's made in Quake 2 engine, so it shouldn't be too hard to port the maps to Tremulous.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to port the maps taken from the pk3s into the Tremulous map editor, removing invalid Warsow entities and Tremifying it a bit, AKA adding alien and human bases, maybe changing the lighting and SOME textures, to retain the cartoonish look a bit.

Since the maps and textures are packed seperately, you might want to pack all the maps up into a big bundle, as we don't know which textures are which.

POSSIBLY USEFUL LINKS:
Warsow 0.61: http://www.zcdn.org/dl/warsow_0.61_unified.zip
Warsow SDK: http://www.zcdn.org/dl/warsow_0.61_sdk.zip

Thanks in advance.  ;)

I like the cartoonish aesthetic of Warsow, but the maps would probably have to be modified a lot to be playable under Trem.

ok, can you give me the tool thingy app that can code?

no, we have hot air balloons. With the model of a jetpack :P

This can be fixed by editing values through the qvm, but that doesn't really matter.
