Destined Alliance of Worldwide Gaming
« on: January 01, 2012, 01:51:37 am »
My clan has a 2 member Tremulous division. We need more members, especially good ones. Tremulous is one of my favorite games and I'd love to enlist enough people to start clan wars and tournaments. We except all willing to abide to our rules, if interested, visit our site http://thedawgclan.tk and see the steps to becoming a D.A.W.G. member. If you have Xfire or GSC, future clanmate or not, add me so we can play Tremulous together  :), username: odawgg  for both networks.

Uh, isn't it kind of weird to have a whole bunch of divisions if there are only two other people in the clan besides yourself? Instead of calling it a clan, wouldn't it just be more practical to have a website with a list of the games you play? I mean, you seem to be the only member in three quarters of your divisions. You even have these forums all set up and you're the only poster on them. I think you're really going about this wrong, you should probably stop here and re-evaluate what you want to do with your gaming life.

I used to have 27 members, we used to be 5+ deep in games, training, clan wars, then things fell apart and I'm trying to rebuild my clan. It may seem pointless, but my clan means allot to me and always will and I'll never drop my clan, even if I end up back at ground zero which is where I'm almost at.

I am a current member of this clan, and i have been in it for a long time. I dont think its right to tell us we aren't a clan. The members that are in it mean a lot to me and whether there is 300 people or 5, its people getting together who want to game. Every clan has to start some where, a clan cant start off automatically with 100 members. It takes effort and dedication, which o dawgg clearly has.

Well, I'm glad that you're clearly devoted to your clan, but at this rate you're not going to go anywhere. You'd have a much better time concentrating your efforts onto a single game instead of trying to reach for all of them at once. Multi-game clans have a very hard time establishing themselves in the Tremulous community, and I don't think I've seen a single successful one. You're more than welcome to try, but your prospects are bleak if I can count your total membership using just a single hand.

I'm aware of the challenge, I'm currently in the process of recruiting others from other games. But here, it's all about Tremulous, our server will debut July of next year which starts tomorrow where I live. Anyways, anyone want to aid us in our attempts to become one of the most dominant clans in Tremulous, let me know!

your two man clan will host a server?

just play us1.  you'll actually play more folks that way.

also, i see you changed the name of the clan, you changing the website url as well?  right now the url is fitting.  the dawg clan, home of its only member, odawg.

not really trying to be negative or make fun of you or anything, but damn do you make it easy.

oh, and word of advice, pull people into trem with your clan.  i doubt you will get any worthwhile recruits from the established community.

If I don't gain new members from this community, I can always get people from other games and have them play, if they like it, they'll stick with it, I got it all planned out, I just need a new computer so I can play more. I learned the hard way, if you don't play, your clan members aren't going to play unless you have a great history, and I am proud to say I have a decent history with my clan and Tremulous.

trust me on this, anyone you pull from this community will leave you in a week or less.  most of the folks interested in joining a clan have been in one for years.  the others clanhop to wherever they can fit in to have the "right" to wear some "cool looking" tag.

then you have fucks like me who run solo and are not interested in joining any clan.

best of luck to you though. you'll need it as for the most pare we are all bitter, hateful, and too wrapped up in the contest of finding out who the biggest prick is.

All good, I just got a new recruit!, and I almost have enough people for a 4 on 4/5 on 5 clan war, if anyone is interested in the challenge...

That's cute, but can any of you actually play trem? Just dragging people in from other games may not be a recipe for instant success.

Everyone I have for the war has played or plays Tremulous so we're straight, just make sure your clan is up to par.

If I can get a copy of the video, I have no problem. So it'll be D.A.W.G. vs ?, also can we discuss the stipulations (who gets to be what, etc) on my forum too because this is our first clan war in a couple of years, but we're up for the challenge and although the odds are against us, it'll be history in the making.

Yes this is really a thing and do you need a screen recorder?, I have a zipped copy of Fraps full install.exe I can give you. As long as you get my clans highlights so I can make a compilation, it's fine! Now who's clan am I facing?

trem has a built-in demo recorder.  record a demo yourself, and let someone with a better computer actually make and upload a movie from it.

Can I record it from DAWG's side, and maybe have Kharn get the other clan? I want to see how you handle things like coordination.

There's things that need to be discussed, first, what's the name of the clan I'm facing?

The ddos clan, a fine group from Europe. I'm sure you'll find them to be quite the challenge.

Yeah but what does ddos stand for?, what's the URL to their clansite?, and is there a specific team we have to play on because I'd prefer humans. Also, can all 5 ddos clan participants sign up to my site and post the info on my forum?

Well, since they're a long-established Tremulous clan, you might want to check these very forums for a clan thread.

Here you go: http://ddos-tremulous.eu/

Please contact them as soon as possible and arrange this scrim. I absolutely must observe this. It would be so beautiful to witness a trashing on that level.

I already found their website and talked to them on their IRC, it's not even like that, we're having a friendly scrimmage, and I'll be the only one keeping record of the final score on my website, we're shooting for this Saturday at 6AM GMT -8.

Right now, I'm picturing the members of this clan going through some sort of Rocky training montage, complete with triumphant music in the background.
