I, for one, seriously agree that we could use some people that actually give two shits about maintaining this game, but could you be more specific? "Community Manager" is just two words, what do you want to do as "Community Manager"?

ok, can you give me the tool thingy app that can code?

There are five steps in the Community Manager is responsible for:

   1. Listen: Use listening tools like Technorati, Talkdigger, read blogs, forums, wikis, to find out what customers are saying
   2. Respond: Depending on what’s being said, respond quickly when appropriate
   3. Inform: Tell the right stakeholders in the company what’s happening, this can range from Engineering, Product Management, Product Marketing, PR, Marketing, Bloggers, or forums moderators.
   4. Shut up and sit back: One of the most important jobs of the CM is to connect the right internal people with customers and let them work it out, stay out of the way if you don’t understand the problems.
   5. Listen more: Keep on listening, responding, informing, and connecting the right folks. A community manager is an odd looking being, big ears and eyes, and a small mouth.

I hope you understand now

well, well, even the largest open source projects don't have such a community manager.

You barely speak English, and you "wanna" be a CM? You might do well as one only for dead games with no community.

Oh wait

Well dudes:
First:  My english is bad  because is my second language so that mean I know 2 languages.
Second: if you don't like that game because "is dead" go and play Unvanquished. No need to comment here.
Thirdly: You're not Developer. I have made this topic for developers not for you. You do not make decisions but developers yes.
Fourth: If you reply here I will ignore this.

Well dude
First: It's not bad that English is not your native language, but a CM has to be able to write in it without making grammar mistakes.
Second: Nobody said about disliking the game but about it being dead. No need to comment here.
Tridly(?): If you don't want people to comment and want developers to at least see your proposal, ask them directly, not on forums that they barely visit.
Fourth: You might not respond, but you will definitely read it and most likely wont ignore it.
Fifth(ly?): Forget about the idea, have fun and play GPP until there are people playing it if you hate TremZ/Unv.

Looks like you should ask yourself 2 questions:

  • Given how you responded to criticism, are you the right for this community?
  • Given how this community criticised you, is this community right for you?

Given how this community criticised you, is this community right for you?
irrelevant. a project should not be dropped just because of a bunch of fags.

I'm merely saying that if he is already telling everyone who isn't a developer to shut up then maybe this community isn't for him.

a problem currently is that there are a bunch of tyrants sitting on top of tremulous.net and svn.icculus.org/tremulous, for the sole sake of sitting there. but it's actually not a must to take a considerable control of these sites to manage a community, one is able to help and communicate with developers and others just as any freelancer on these forums.

ACtually the unvanquished masterlist is always dead whenever i go on so i still say trem 1.1 is more active. Gpp only has players on unlimited bp and US trem.
Btw, it seems you aren't that active on the forums as well, seeing from at the time i posted this, you only had 9 posts in history, and only registered in august last year. I would say you would have hardly any luck of getting this job. I would even say nux has a higher probability of getting this job. But the question is: are there any "real" tremulous developers still active, and are willing to give you the job?

May i propose a battle to the death between woozie and URV, after which we'll give the position to someone else entirely and hope that the victor suffers a slow painful death from wounds sustained in combat?

For a while I thought Stannum would stay loyal to Trem forever, but it seems as he has finally thrown in the towel. A shame that all his great work will probably never come to life.

Yes, his models are sitting happily in unvanquished just waiting for you to play with them.

Can I suggest a battle to death between Woozie and URV, then we are able to give to someone completely different and we hope that the winner suffered a slow and painful death from wounds in battle in?
