We don't need androids.

Its more human than an android.  While this is a little off topic, the girl in that pic was from an anime which has the purpose of questioning where the line between human and robot begins.

If you disagree, can a robot, or android, cry?

Just to do that pointing out minor details thing, Motoko Kusanagi (I did have to look the name up, BTW) is a human in a fully cyborg body. We could get into a debate about whether she is actually human or not (perhaps she is just a programmed copy with a robotic body, etc. etc.), but I'm pretty sure the title of this thread does not contain the word 'philosophy'.

No, an android is a Robot with a highly developed AI inside.  The person in the picture was a REAL person inside a synthetic body.  If its anything, it would be a cyborg.

And, as has been mentioned, there is nothing on the post that says "philosophy".  Nor is there anything to say "disscussion on as to whether the main character of Ghost on the Shell is an android, cyborg etc.  It is a disscussion about as to the good and bad points of having a female character in trem, based on the concepts (which were very skillfully drawn, might I add) shown by the author.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, I believe we have concluded on having a reasonably averagely proportioned female in Tremulous would be fine. I agree with Taiyo's comment. A new model would be needed to properly represent women in Tremulous.
