before getting started on what is good and what isnt, unless you have downloads on you should think about which maps are more easily attainable; there are maps on that list that i have never heard of, Bunker5634 and DMB01, to name two.
cannon is a proof-of-concept of a dretch cannon--there is nothing more than the cannon and one spawn per team, all in a room about the size of the default atcs bases.
thermal, atcszalpha, gloom3t--these are pretty good, although thermal may be a little big depending on the number of players (i dont kno wat the yaknet max is)
the rest --its been a while since ive looked at them, with the exception of pulse and hamunaptra. pulse - the way the teams play could be compared to niveus, and the map itself could be compared to a cross of tremor and uncreation-its dark and some people dislike it enough to leave. hamunaptra - this map is strange, like completely different than any other, and from what ive read in this forum, pretty much you either love it or hate it. highrise is the same.
utcs - you probably dont want to include it if the max players is much over 12
