Here is my version of the HUD I made a week or two ago.
It includes changes to the visability of all the important stats without the need to take your eyes off of your target.

Enjoy and let me know what you think.

http:// http://rapidshare.com/files/3759360/phreakUI_-_simple.zip.html

Unzip to base, start Tremulous and type the following in console:

/cg_hudfiles ui/phreak.cfg
This will give you my HUD with the crosshair DISABLED.

/cg_hudfiles ui/phreak2.cfg
This will give you the same identical HUD with the alien crosshair enabled.

Remember to /reconnect  to server for changes to take affect.[/url]

Adv. Goon barb position and alien HUD

Human HUD

Like I stated above, this is simply a visability improvement over the stock HUD rather then an overhaul.

Glad you like it.
The barbs are positioned so that you can use the top barb to aim at close objects, middle one for medium distance and the bottom for farther distance.
This is good for newer players to get used to the curve.

Human HUD

more equipment on the screen =  GREAT! I just hate to scroll to see if I have a nade or not
thx

erm NO, what was i thinking, the selector is in the center, so it will cut the inventory :/, but this one will not :
    //INVENTORY
    itemDef
    {
      name "inventory"
//      rect 232.5 425 175 25
      rect 182.5 425 275 25
      visible 1
      decoration
      forecolor 0.0 0.8 1.0 0.5
      ownerdraw CG_PLAYER_SELECT
    }

4 additional inventory slots visible = you can select main weapon and see the nade, woohoo
and it fits on 1024x screen

Not sure what part is distracting to you but point me in the right direction and I'll be happy to tweak it.

As far as the time goes, I personally like to know when SD is coming so I can time taking out armories or boosters. This is just a convenience for myself.

Well I had the time up on the right, is what i meant, not that I don't like to see it. I looked over there between my FPS and the lagometer and it was gone and was a little disorienting.

By distracting i meant that i can see it. The other original one is very.. subdued and I could ignore it, so now there is a brighter one it catches my eye.. But the item menu and the stamina bar for the humans makes it worth it for me. It takes too much effort with the original to see if i can jump or not.

I'm getting an error that it can't find ui/phreak.cfg. Perhaps it's because I installed Tremulous in a non-standard place (because I'm not an admin, I stuck it in a folder on the desktop)?

or something like that

In order to get it to work, you have to find the folder where you installed Tremulous (default in Win is C:/Program Files/Tremulous)
Inside the Tremulous folder find the folder called "base" and unzip the file into that.
After you do that, you will have a new folder in base called ui.
The HUD files are in that folder.

To use the HUD, start Tremulous open console and type in the command from the first post here.
Hope that helps.

Looks interesting, but the colors make it stand out. I've been working on one that puts health and stamina in the lower right area with ammo and credits. I believe that the player should be immersed into the world they are playing in and not hindered by the hud.

How about goon crosshair like this:
Code: [Select]
(o)
__
__
__

Leave the ammo in the bottom corner, like all ammo goes.
The extra equipment space is nice, I often find myself wondering if I still have a medkit.
Can we have a high contrast HUD that sticks to the monochromatic blue/red color schemes?

If you could tone down the red and yellow colors down a little it would be great.  :)

You edited your post, and 40 of those sukers would stil take up a lot of space.
Besides, what about dretch, Adv. Granger, Basilisk, and Adv Mara, all of which have Hp ending in 5?
What about partial damage?
Face it vcxzet, your idea is not well thought-out.

Have you seen the Minimal HUD I made? It packs all the information except your ammo/build-point counters into a single box on the screen.

Wolfwings, yes I saw it but the colors stand out. I have been making one by request,;take a look at the hud opinion thread. I since eliminated the right circle and am playing with the arrangement of the items. The sig was to humor a fellow clan mate.
