Make it so that the tentacles can reach out quite a long ways, or give it some other way to reach high places ( :dragoon: have pounce,  :marauder: have walljump,  :dretch: :basilisk: can wallwalk.) You cant just let it be immoble, or it will be pretty much just like a rant.

(also, how is the model doing?)

It's still being worked on, currently reducing the polycount to something sensible for in-game use.

that model is amazing even more amazing you did that on blender where i was unable to do anything but rotate a cube.

yeah its really impressive i just love its legs :D
it looks just great, maybe head needs some changes to make it look more badass

As far as I know, he did not make this in blender, but rather wings3d. Blender is for animations and perhaps optimizing. (Although he may have switched over to full blender using, I don't know.)

not to be harsh, but that looks like a mara-goon and not very original. I think that with 4 legs instead of 6 it would really encourage the fact that it is a unique alien.

Ravager is still being developed.... slowly. Most of my spare time is being eated by a crapload of hardware projects at the moment.

Yeah, the perspective view does make it look rather long, but the actual open/closed length ratio of the head is only about 1:2. The screenshots don't necessarily show the final position of the limbs as I haven't started to bone or animate it yet. Though, there still seems to be some confusion about how the mouth works - normally it looks like this, then it's lower jaw opens and splits in half (think Blade) then each half unfolds into the outstretched arms as seen above which it uses to grab you. Then the tentacle thrusts forward from it's throat (think xenomorph/graboid), through your body and eats you from the inside, like some sort of pulverising vacuum cleaner. The model currently has 2,882 faces.
