The reason we're a guild is because we're just a group of Tremulous players that like to play together, have similar interests, and like to do things for the community. Sure, we also scrim on occasion, but the large majority of our interaction takes place in our IRC channel and forums, as well as just playing games with each other. We're fairly liberal with our requirements to get in, and once you're in participation in everything MG-involved is entirely voluntary. We don't require you hang out in our IRC channel, we don't require you show up for practices or scrims, we don't require that you participate in the many projects that we're working on, and we don't even require you to wear our tag.
We're just a group of people who like Tremulous, and want to be known under one banner as we play and help the community. Clan warfare isn't our highest priority. It isn't even near the top of our list of priorities. We want to play Tremulous, have fun, and work together to give back to the community. If any clan leader has a problem with a member of their clan being a member of the Mercenaries Guild as well, then they're -- quite frankly -- a douchebag.
