Lovin it! So fast :D. It even knew that i wanted to go to tremulous.net when i typed in "trem"!!!

I had a weird problem on the main forum page cause i couldn't scroll down, but that might be my crappy mouse. I'll test it some more
Edit: work's now, i guess it was just my mouse misbehaving

St. Anger

Taking up a lot of memory for a browser that isn't exactly feature packed. Also it keeps freezing to where my YouTube video stops and I can't click anything on the browser.

Even though it's a beta just for the fact that it's google made I do expect better!!

(If it turns out this is just my own personal problem scratch everything I said)

I'll go check out youtube right now :P

Loads fine on mine. Are you using vista or xp? i got xp. Also only uses 1/4 of my cpu which isn't that much considering HOW much cpu i have in total.

jit

I'm really liking this new browser. I just downloaded it about 20 minutes ago and the speed and its resemblance to safari jumped out. I like the Task Manager seeing how much bandwidth and memory is being used by Chrome. I saw that Chrome pretty much uses more bandwidth than Firefox but is faster. I don't know how that works. I like how individual tabs can crash and leave the rest intact. I like the clean look and the sliding tabs are nice. The simplicity of the browser is also great.

kozak6

I'm half tempted to try it.

I'm running XP and all the rest of my browsers work flawlessly (Opera,Firefox,IE7)

cactusfrog

all try the final version when that comes out

Snake

A friend tested it and he said that he miss the plugins like the adblock :P
.

Seffylight

Needs more features, then we'll talk.
Stop it. Seriously.

Paradox

For a beta, its really quite mature. Far better than the Firefox betas were...

Thanks to its new line script and the fact that it was newly written by scratch using new technology (Unlike other browsers) this one pre-applies data fast, which is kick ass. I certainly love it, its fast, its awsome, makes my life easier. So far no malware, viruses or spyware, or crappy ads, I recommend it. :D

(Tested viruses with the latest version of  Notron Antivirus)
(Tested malware/spyware with Spybot and Aware Plus '08 )
(Getting tired of checking every file I download :P )

Syntac

I'm definitely going to use it, once the Mac version comes out.

Snake

.

fingered banana

it works great but I can not live without my adblock

ampul

tried it today on a P4 1,8 Ghz, 768 MB ram. it went really fast.

would you wait that long? using gmail (beta it still is) for about ... 4 years. good thing i didn't wait for the final version.

gimhael

I tested it and I like the speed, but for 'real' surfing I still prefer firefox on linux, just to annoy all those guys who think they can install diallers on my PC. But it may become my preferred browser for the MSDN.  ;D

The "call everything a beta" strategy is just Googles way to avoid blame when it doesn't work properly, just like Vistas UAC is just there to put the blame on the end user when a virus or worm gets on the computer.

Hendrich

The problem with Google Chrome is:

You can get viruses even more easily then IE6, it has NO protection, BEWARE! D:

The flash/Java/etc Player soemtimes doesn't seemed to be reconized by Chrome, but its pretty unlikely, but it happend to me.

The comic talking about it just tries to confuse the reader into thinking they want something uber-awsome made by scientists, which, isn't really the case, and the comic should be questioned on it's truthfullness. (Ok, not part of Chrome, but its related :P )

Tabs loads into another process, sssuuucckksss, something can go wrong, just think about it,

Thats a few of the problems, and yea, thats all I got on top of my head. :P

QuoteNorton sucks.

I have to agree with you, it does suck, but its the one I rather trust then others like Macfee or etc.

Lava Croft

It's a cute and nice browser for a beta, but it's not that big of a feat to create a cute and nice browser in beta that has about 25% (or less)of the functionality of a normal browser.
I am still using Chrome for my daily tasks though, just because I want to see it crap out more.
So far it has been fairly stable!

[PS] Don't compare a beta browser from 2008 with the first FireFox betas, that's a bit unfair given all the years of extra knowledge that is spent on Chrome, not to mention all the cold, hard dough that Google can put behind a project like this.
