Disbandment of The Zubs

This post is for people who are interested to know why The Zubs disbanded. Please do not post any stupid comments. I would not have created this post if Dragula had been able to reply to Annihilation in the original Zubs thread (prior to it being locked). I found it very disrespectful of Annihilation to respond the way he did and for Dragula not to be given a chance to reply. So here is what really happened:

The majority of the members have been inactive due to studies (or other personal reasons) and rarely did they play tremulous. The clan was founded by Meren, AppleJuice and myself but decisions were made with every single member. One day, a few members decided to be racist (which is against the rules) and Meren found out and announced his resignation. This is when the clan started discussing disbandmement because: (1) I don't play anymore and had lost interest in the clan (so had AppleJuice and the majority of the members) (2) I was extremely disappointed about what happened and I no longer wanted to run the forums. Instead of letting the clan wither and die on its own, I wanted to disband it so we would go out respectfully. Anger thought it was all his fault so he resigned. At this point, everyone still had access to the members-only area. I created a poll and the results were fair and square: we would disband the clan. That was when I announced that The Zubs have disbanded.

We're all still friends, and we all speak outside of Tremulous.. so please stop with the gossip, Annihilation. If we wanted to respond, we could have posted ourselves. It isn't your business to respond in our place, and if someone trusted you enough to give you *some* details about what happened, it still doesn't give you the right to re-arrange his words.

Greetings!

The Zubs, sadly, is no more.  We did not disband for any dramatic reasons. Most of the Zubs, like all humans, have aged over the past year. Quite a few of us are busy with college; amine is juggling college, poutine and his business. We understandably do not have time for Tremulous anymore, and have not had any since September (when we all went inactive). Amine and I have been discussing disbanding since then - not enthusiastically, because that would be lame, but casually. We only finally decided to do it because our forums were pretty much dead, with the only real topic being the racism one. As amine said, we wanted to leave on our own terms, instead of finding ourselves dead a few months from now. Unfortunately, we won't be back under a different name, or even under the same name. We're more of a Pidgin clan, now.

I've had some great times in tremulous, and I wish the developers much success with 1.2. Farewell!

I saw power's post after it was locked, it gave me a good laugh. But honestly I don't know what I would have said if it wasn't locked... he had already gone every way possible by saying I have no life for making a post and calling me a cunt fuck and all that good stuff. I could have asked him shouldn't he be working the grave shift at Wendy's, but I really didn't care. Anyone who would take power's word on the subject I don't care if they know the real story anyway.

Like I have said many a time already, Zubs was the most fun I have had in trem and the people amongst it are amazing characters. Long live the legend of the Zubs!

1 - I wasn't trying to disrespect zubs in any way.  I much respect zubs and saw them as good players and other than some trolling on public servers almost all respectable players.
2 - I just said almost exactly what ozzy told me on aim.  Not that it matters either way, just lots of silly drama that almost no one cares about.
 
I do appreciate the solid formal post with back up and calm respect also.  Maybe if dragula had responded in such a way I wouldn't of snapped back at him.  I apologize for my infactualness and really didn't mean any harm.  I just retyped almost word for word what ozzy said on aim.  If it is that big of a deal to you I'll pull out aim logs.

Either way, best of luck to all of you in your endeavours.  Sorry to see a good clan die but glad to see it done so well together and in group decision.

I forgot how easy it was to start an argument with a tremulous player.

And I also forgot how hard it was to stop one from continuing.

I'm glad I've found another game to play.  Life.  You guys should give it a shot too.

@fellow ex-zubs (not including shade):  I had a great few months with y'all.  I hope to keep in touch with as many of you as possible, although I know it's going to be tough.  You guys represented the maturity that tremulous needs, but got too late.
