By the way, one word about the new procedure for working out disputes/disagreements/etc. of "official acts of moderation", if you will. It was the wish of a previous mod NOT to receive PMs from members, and it seemed to be alluded to that PMing a mod was a bad idea. This one particular former moderator even had this neat trick of sending a nasty and sarcastic PM, and then, when a person would reply to said PM, the mod would follow it up with another nasty and sarcastic reply, which included a threat to ban the member for simply replying, even though the mod, not the member, initiated the private conversation. 'Twas a somewhat personal method of attack, verging on vendetta.
Anyway, it's nice to know that we can drop a friendly "wtf?" without getting a banhammer threat as the reply every time. I would suppose that either users who harass mods or mods who harass users will now be equally frowned upon, and frankly, I welcome an atmosphere a little less acerbic and personally insulting, and thank the forces of reason and the spirit of true "moderation" for once again reasserting themselves.
I think you know who & what I am talking about without being any more specific. Let this be the end of any us-vs.-them acrimony, and just have "we" versus the rest of the non-Trem-playing multiverse. After all, everyone who comes here is interested in playing Tremulous, so they have at least that much going for them.
Cheers!
