Good thing about:
60 Slots
108 commands
24/7 running but not all the time just 1st day 24/7 and next day at morning i turn off pc and turn on for few hours...cause pc gets hot...but on holidays and weekend fully 24/7h
and systm req. are good:
AMD Athlon 5200+ 64 X2 speed at: 2,7ghz
4GB Ram....etc....

bad thing:
at day you must have atleast 4 players daily or ill stop hosting for you....srry but i host for players not for not to be played in...
etc....if i forgot somethin im tellin you when i remember...

Not only that.
A system that needs to be turned off because of venting-problems is shit.
And hosting on a dial-up, be it dsl/cable/whatnot is always a bad idea.

well the ping is amolost good for all except for some countrys in USA that have "not good" servers i was pinging some country's and also autodownload is turned to download from server well someguy didnt had some map and he had to autodownload he lives in germany i think his download speed to server was 130kb/s

well i got 3 coolers that coolsdown my pc so it pc gets hot at veeeeeeeeeeeeery long time i left pc turned on for 2 weeks and temp was 42 C lol...

Anyways, great server Uni, the connection seems good from Canada and I'll be sure to stop by once in awhile.

Btw, my crap PC has only one dusty cooler, it hasn't been shut off for 3 months and its not over-heating. Either my PC pwns yours or the 733Mhz it has isn't really powerful enough to overheat anything.

cause you got bigger housing.... well my pc that has 450mhz was turned on for 3 years and it were at 52 C hot well this pc pwns yours... whats temp of your cpu not cooler

First off, write like your age. You are only rivaled by the former snb in English fluency (but now, even snb is better). Second, you cannot have countries in a country. It does not work that way.

If you're really serious about starting a clan and having your own server, a good place to ask is at populated servers, in-game. Often, certain groups which have multiple servers will know of places to find hosting (or will possibly offer hosting). Popular servers and servers with lots of players can also be good places to look. Most of these kinds of servers (multiple-iteration, popular or just plain big) also have forums, which makes them a good place to look for deals on hosting, and also find fellow unaffiliated players.

As regards free hosting, remember, you get what you pay for. Look for somebody who will charge you around $12 to $20 dollars a month, and get your clanmates to chip in (every month somebody else pays, or the webmaster pays from a donations fund, etc.).

I cant imagine a dedi taking too many resources. you can get a cheap bsd jail with 128mb of ram for about 7 dollars. and alot of universities offer free shells. if theres a server only app and its small enough you might just get one on there.

Yeah, and all those free hosts have rules against hosting game servers etc.
Either go with a game-host or something that has dedicated resources and a game-friendly TOS.

I can remember my pal running old rusty Cel w/128 mb in an old almost uncooled box (two pathetic little fans) with no peripherals connected. It ran q3 dedicated 24/7 for half a year and was ssh-able only from his full-size workhorse. A pity was that mobo burnt away rather soon.

i got a similar system and its only got a 2cm cpu fan and the PSU fan (which died) it makes a great NAS box

now Pentium 2 xeon isnt at offer now is 1,8ghz CPU with Radeon HD2600Pro 512mb and 1gb of ram......and the server is allready hosted for a clan but now i hav problem with the f****** Hard Drive...so i'm 'bout to buy a new HDD one day when i find time for that
