I can find people, it's just they dont recommend me. Weather they just forgot or something, or weather I need to improve some more, I dont know. But, whatever, we'll get 3 recommendations eventually.

I think if you see someone who needs recommendations playing and you "dont like" how they play, you should send them a PM.

Something like...

Hi <playername>, I saw you playing on Tremulous and noticed you are a }MG{ Recruit and need recommendations. I'm sorry but I cannot recommend you because <reason>. [OPTIONAL: You could improve this by; <howtoimprove>]

I mean, it can be shorter than that. You dont have to write your entire life story (like I usually do in PM's. lol).

At least this way your letting the person know;

1) You havnt forgot to recommend them. << So they dont need to send you messages saying "Why havnt you recommended me?" (see: saves time for both players)

2) How they can improve their performance. << What the clan is essentially about.

I vouch for novotekick, he should be posting about joining MG soon.

Also, today Captain Ventris, Novotekick, and I were teaching a new player on our server. Novo and I were human dummies so the player could learn attack strategies while Ventris guided him as an alien.

We managed to complete all alien lessons by the time I left... but that consumed a considerable amount of time. We have to have a permenant setup or something on a map so that humans/aliens can reach each other quickly (we can ask one of the map designers to make a special map for us). Also, we need to learn commands (if they exist) that will auto advance a team to the next stage.

I suggest we have a cfg for binds for every tip we say (you can choose when to execute the cfg so the binds wont interfere during normal play)... or else its a lot of typing that we'll have to do again and again for every new player.

Ill try to think up a bind script..

Long story in short form, NotVotedOff was the name given to me by tuple in a game yesterday.  Considering the server I was on (}MG{ Clan), the irony of the name was sufficiently high enough for me to like the name and keep it.

Some people have been on that list a while and still don't have their recs (anyone above you on the list)... so sometimes it takes a while.
It might be good if you'd specify 1 or 2 servers you frequent and try to stick to them for a while.  
Also feel free to add the }MGR{ tag to your name if you haven't already.. i usually scan a few servers for that tag before I decide where i'm going to go.

It's handy to know the slot# of players, typing in some of these names reliably can be a pain
/!listplayers
will list all server players, slots, teams, etc.
There are more ! commands, but I'm pretty sure you'll need tjw's build of tremulous to get permission to use them.
Some are VERY useful, like !cancelvote

advance stages
You need rcon, and have to have entered the password
type /rcon g_humanstage 0,1,or 2, or /rcon g_alienstage 0,1, or 2
0 for stage 1, 1 for 2, 2 for 3
so /rcon password {command}

Messaging
/messagemode2
or
/m NAME/SLOT MESSAGE
OR
/mt NAME/SLOT MESSAGE
for like names on your team
or
broadcast message
/rcon cp "message"


I've been keeping an eye out for a more comprehensive admin manual but haven't found anything yet.  I'm collecting info as I find it, but have been too busy playing trem to research it
