We have waited so long for 1.2. Now that it is coming around, it appears to lack support. This is probably from the fact the only ones around who visit these forums are die hard 1.1 players.  The tremulous population is decreasing. If there isn't some change, it will be a few lone clans always playing eachother and the random noob who gets scared off.(sounds like now doesn't it)

The ones like me and some of my clanmates who stopped playing because of the horrible public games where people camp. 32 person ATCS only maps. A decent goon being so hard to take out 1v1 if humans are s1. Etc

I for one, am going to run the beta 1.2 on my server. With a real map rotation. To actual give it a good test run so I can voice my opinion based on experience. I hope others will hold off on their decisions until the beta can actually be tested out on a bigger scale.

I think that what the main problem will be, is when people who haven't played 1.1 in a long time, see on a website, "Tremulous 1.2 release!"  They will think, "Oh yay! Finally 1.2 came out! Let's download it and see how awesome it is!"  But when they enter a server, they cannot tell the difference since they haven't played 1.1 in so long anyways.  (No graphical enhancements, models, or maps.)  I think 1.2 should wait for main release until the models are included, and hopefully new maps.

Tremulous is just a glorified chat client anyway... who gives a fuck which version it's running?  But then again I gotta agree, 1.2 is total bullshit... They've somehow managed to completely fuck over the gameplay, without releasing any shiny new visuals or effects.  It's like the worst of both worlds.

So eh, I'll join the cult.  Long live 1.1!

surely after playing this game for 4 years you want dodge and other things.  i quit playing a while ago because of how monotonous the game got to be.  If your clan is good in 1.1, you can master 1.2 as well.  As far as the server bullshit, the developement servers should by default be at the top.  at least then noobs will get friendly mods ect.  it shouldnt be at the top if you sort by anything, but by default it should.
