@Topic alot of ppls say pulse on s3.Why?My goon easy beat all helmet light and pulse... pulse isnt so good s2 is good way.I prefer List of player dead in score list.

What I want to see in v1.2:


v1.2


99% of mods/free/OS-games drop dead within 6 months from first release and NEVER have any further work done on them.

If all v1.2 has is:

-Improved BAN and Kick/BAN Voting system;
-Disabling newly joined players from picking the Construction Tools.
(for first 60 secs, or c_var like sv_time_block_construction_spawn)
-TOTTALY disalowing de-construction of the reactor once built.
-TOTTALY disalowing de-construction of LAST Telepod / armoury.
(server side options)

Improved Dretch at S3. (make it invisible, make it teleport, make it better because otherwise you are dead meat)
Bandoliers (they WERE promised... but I have YET to see them)
Perhaps some kind of ranged Anti-Air attack for aliens.
(Remember my Tentacle idea?)

Then that would be great!

BAD IDEA.  Base moving is an essential part of the game, especially for aliens.

1. Stop dretch blocking.

Ok, so it's a cast-iron guarantee that someone will reply to this and say: "a) It's been asked for before b) it'll unbalance the game", but hear me out first.

All of the games I've played in have been poisoned by bitching about dretches blocking (well, blocking generally... but dretches inparticular). The complaining is annoying and it ruins the game. Dretch blocking is mostly the fault of newbies -- they just don't know any better. Public servers will always have newbies... and hence will always be full of bad tempered complaining, unless dretches don't block. So it's not for balance reasons, or to gain an advantage... it's for social reasons. To improve the atmosphere in the game.

2. Also for the same "social" reason: add some more taunts/actions. Tremulous is at its best when players interact. It's funny when aliens are lined up outside the hummie base and start jumping up and down and taunting in unison. It makes me laugh. Ever stood across from another tyrant guarding a door through which hummies keep running and getting killed? I always burst out laughing when both myself and the tyrant across the hallway start jumping up and down, roaring and stabbing excitedly -- it's comical. Or how about the tyrant/goon victory dance that sometimes happens after a base destroying rush? Don't jump to the scoreboard immediately when you print "Aliens win" on the console. Display "Aliens win" in the middle of the screen, and then leave it for 5 seconds or so before jumping to the scores... just to let the aliens dance.

Maybe that sounds lame, but it all improves the social aspects.

TJW's server has "pushing" enabled, dretches can't totaly block bigger aliens now. The dretches will still slow the larger aliens down some, but the blocking is not nearly as bad now.

I want map entities to be able to have properties of more than one type. Like a func_train that can do damage, etc.

I also realy want moving brushes to be able to be built/climbed on.

Neither of those two should prevent the next version from coming out, but they would be very usefull.

But if they block, they will continue to block because there are no repercussions. Also, people sometimes just walk around whacking whatever dretches they see.
Need help? Ask intelligently. Please share solutions you find.

Thats what we need, helpful players, not more powerful admins.

Nope. TJW has full fledged pushing. Aliens can push eachother and humans can push eachother, and aliens and humans can push member of the opposite team. They do this by walking/running into eachother.

And what about basilisks? They die in one hit from a tyrant charge or a dragoon pounce too.

Brand new feature that will be in the next TJW patch. As far as I know, it's only on TJW's server right now. And maybe I'll put it in the next KOCOUR-CZ patch.

Yeah, I just found that out while playing on TJW's last night. Was playing a game on the human team, and Secunder went AFK while standing fully equipped by the armory while the base was falling down around us on Karith.

So I pushed him to the doorway. :> Figured he'd buy us a couple seconds' time as a barricade.

Some stuff:
- Vsays
- If it isnt there already, an antilag system such as http://www.ra.is/unlagged/
- I agree larger aliens/humans should push weaker ones buy running into them. (Not damage them)
- More alt weapon fires. For weapons without a fire, weap alt can become reload. For aliens that dont use weapalt, it could become a taunt like a roar or something (lol).
- Consider adding a medic type class (maybe bring in that female human people are talking about), and an equivelent healer alien.
- Consider ways to make the game LESS CAMPY. One side always camps their base while the other attacks. Gets boring after a while - especialy if people stop venturing out. Maybe encourage maps with extra objectives. (New game mode?)
- I like the idea of alien vs alien and human vs human. Maybe get a third race? (pick random for pubs) That'd be heaps of work though, so prolly nm.
- Alien drawguns (or drawclaws as it may be - two seperate cvars would be better)

What about giving points for killing any structure? Granted you wouldn't get a lot for killing a turret/acid tube, but if ytou killed several you'd get a nice money boost.

for the medic, we already talked about that in a different thread, and a lot of people disagreed.
-I agree with the new race, should be an alien that looks like Protoss from Starcraft or Predator is Alien Vs Predator (AWESOME!), or maybe a new human team. More war-like, not mercenary-like.

I would love to see friendly units on the alien radar.  Some sort of animation to be sure that i have chomped/slashed a human when I am an alien, rather than just relying on sound.  A way to make it so that dreches cannot block tyrants.  Also it would be cool if the game would keep track of kills by weapon/class.
Ex. shotgun player name kill count.  It would keep track of who on what team has the most kills with that weapon or class.  I've seen something similiar in other games and I think while not neccessary it would still be cool to have.

It already makes a sound when you miss. It's rather easy to tell when you've hit, there's a big blue spark thingy when you hit.

Add armor counter to HUD for aliens and humans.

Add some armor for the aliens.
Whats the use of a carapace,a really thick one if it doesnt help?
The basilisks have a spiked tough looking armor so they should have some decent armor.

I'd like to see more of these great maps added to the base maplist. Temple is a great example of the quality that many players are missing out on.

I've thought for a bit that the alien crosshairs are too rigid and mechanical looking. I designed this alien crosshair to be more biological-looking. To accomplish that look, I used some ragged looking brushes, as well as regular soft-circle brushes, and I used fade-away mode to give it that look of a reflected acid tube. I did it all by hand to give it that organic feeling.

It may be too busy for some players, and it may just be too large, but I think it would look awesome in game. How do I apply this crosshair to test it out?


I can send the xcf file to anyone who's interested.
