IMO the drop shadow looked nicer. I'd love to see how it would look if you elaborated on the half alien/half human version.

If I followed the conversation correctly, Kaleo made the human part from scratch... Kaleo dude, you listening?

On the glassy image, the whole tophalf is shiny, why don't you make it so that the grey part is NOT shiny, but leave the rest.

By 'the grey bit' I think they mean the transparent bit.
Also random point of note, transparency doesn't work in IE,  and looks borked to all the morons who still use it.

EDIT:
Made for a different project, but may be of interest to someone here.
http://Mercenariesguild.net/files/948731  <-- goon+ barb.
http://Mercenariesguild.net/files/686645  <-- the whole bit on the bottom left of the alien hud.

EDIT2:
Who has all the originals, and would it be possible to get hold of them?

How's this one work for ya?

It might look a little over-the-top, so tell me if so. Also, the little wallwalking indicators were giving me trouble so I left them as is. Should I go ahead and change them, or are they ok?

EDIT: Wow, looks like ass against the dark background. Needs an outline, no?

Flip it in half with the human side, and add a drop shadow, and i'd pay nothing for it. But I sure would dl it :)

Well, the browser won't make any difference in the end. Whoever still uses IE should seriously consider Opera or Firefox!  :D

Oh, those icons are from chompers HUD, right?

Here is my try at Alien/Human combination icon.

Better 3D version (too many changes):

Oh YEAH! Very nicely done, you appear to be getting better and better at Inkscape    ... the human side looks a bit strong than the alien side. Probably because of the color, or because it's a full circle or something.

@f0qqu3 That looks cool as if it's ablaze. Try putting it on ur pokeball version.

Yeah, I think i do too. The flatness works well as a logo, though maybe not as a program icon. Of all the icons so far, I think that one will scale the best, especially for windows users who use tiny icon non scalable sizes.

Oh and rapha, i find that icon too dark and that's what this one is for.

I'd love to have the svg for that. I think that, without the "T", would be awesome.

Edit: You guys need to stop designing at 128x128. (I know this sounds hypocritical coming from me) These icons will probably turn out fine when you scale down the svg, but designing at a size that won't be used (except in certain cases on OSX) isn't the best idea. The Tango Icon Theme Guidelines really have a lot of smart ideas about this kind of stuff, coming straight from professional icon designers.

hello .o/ don't break my icons please :P

In my opinion, you should work with as large images as possible as contracting is easier than expanding. The kind of icons that look good small are pretty much the kind of icons that look good big, too.

I like f0rqu3's logo but it is a bit monochromatic, could do with some detail.
I think durand's is a touch too busy and I don't like the T (a pure image logo I think would be nice) but it is pretty and nicely symbolic.
Try cutting the diameter of the outer blue ring so it has approximately the same area as the red on the left.

If you make it small then the people who use OSX will have itr pixelated,  you always work at the highest size and then you make it small (adjustments if needed).

Heres an Human vs Alien 1.
