*from what i've known/read.
Lots of aussies 'pros' (and some americans and wherever they come from, but not as often noticed by me) tend to have simply high fps, prediction and aiming skills, probably meaning that it is still quiet new to us. Most of our school was started as being COD - the 'good game', to Soldier of Fortune 2 (also on q3 engine suprisingly), to Minecraft, and now starting to become TF2. I only started playing simply because they thought it was good, and it was free.
Anyways Tremulous just needs some support, which comes out free, and stay open-source if possible. A major problem being fixed are the squarish gun models, except there's still a pattern in them: Triangular, and those dome-thingies. (1.1's pattern was bring squarish, and had handles on the top of the gun for no reason except mass driver, blaster and luci.)
TF2 has been well known/played for 4 years now. They have an extremely active development that I have personally never seen on anything that wasn't an MMORPG. It becoming free is just another things they've done to keep the game alive.
I also got a weird feeling TF2 also will start to die out (again, if you said it became free to keep it alive) just like what happened to COD 4 and its series. Well, it isn't doing too bad, but it will eventually die out. The only few choices for game devs is to rapidly improve physics and bugs (and glitches) in the engine, improve graphics and how addicting and how long does the addiction last for. (e.g. MMORPG takes shitloads of time to get better, but unfortunately they have "really good rewards" for playing it - reference from my brother's attitude. Whereas, games like WarHawk [PS3] died because it simply took waaay too long and got boring, and COD didn't have enough variety to it)
Custom models and guns might work? (and require you to unlock them so the player has to play to get the good stuff) But that will cause other problems as player information is kept through servers and ID is kept through qkeys...
Someone please tell me wtf i'm doing, i think i'm getting off-topic.
