Hi everybody,

Today, maci banned Poland from our Tremulous server. This is not a racist action, nor an action against Poland, but an action against the multitude of Polish players who think that any server they join is Polish territory, and behave accordingly. This is annoying a lot of people, who are fed up with the constant Polish talking, asking if they want to switch to English speak usually has no result.

Now, we know that of course not everybody from Poland is lacking in social skills, and we have a few people from Poland who play on SatGNU like any other person, speaking English and behaving properly. Since we do not want to lose people like you, and certainly not let you pay for the behaviour of your miscreant neighbours, hop over to #satgnu on irc.quakenet.org and we can work something out.

We hope the cool Polish players do not feel attacked, since that is not our intention.

to be serious, hahahahahaha good job guys, though I haven't played much on SatGNU (get enormously high lag there for no reason) teh PL nubs were sometimes very annoying.

When I say Poland sucks, I say that because I have been there, and I have no love for 3rd-world countries. That has absolutely nothing to do with the banning of Poland from SatGNU, since my personal opinion about Poland is not important, the behaviour they show on our server is. That is what we go by.

Good work Lava. Even if I haven't that problem on my server, there were lot's of votekickers who wanted the teams for them alone. So I simply deactivated voting :)

that at least SATGNU is save of PL noobs and/or annoying PL players

am not a racist or sumtin, i just been in so many games where PL/CZ/BR ppl just totally ruined the game

Since when is Poland a 3rd world country ?!
Last time I checked, Poland was a First World country.
We also have a...er...'colourful' language.
I just dont see why so many people have it in for us Poles though-
what did we do to anyone ?!



But yeah,
I can see why you did the ban.
Infact, im behind it.
Too many Polish noobs (Im Polish, but I rarely speak Polish on Trem) who dont know a word of Polish and make the game a bit chaotic.
(My Polish is pretty weak actually  :booster:  Should really brush up again)

As i told you before. I can add exception rules.
So get into #satgnu on irc.quakenet.org and contact me.
This does work for either IPs or dyndns . if you have a dyndns you have to wait max. 5 minutes for the server to get your new ip and update the firewall rules.

I fully agree with you Lava, because some of those Polish players are too strict and in MG Server, a lot of people were banned right away when Polish players took control of it... it's very annoying so they should stop it.

its obviously the Poland Complex, a condition suffered by many Poles where they fail to control a subconcious urge to take control of things. Many blame this condition from the state of Poland over the past two centuries, and scholars attribute this effect from Poland's recent history of being dominated by nearly EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY AROUND IT.

In all seriousness, its hilarious that an entire country has been banend from a server.

Rofl, take a joke, seriously. No wonder the ban was installed if people are so overly-sensitive about themselves like this, let alone other circumstances.

Anyways, look at it this way: In today's world, when you reference Poland, are you looking at the " Golden Age of Poland LOL, " or are you looking at their recent, not-so-hot-in-fact-its-very-disappointing-hahaha- type of history?

I'm over-sensitive about history and truth, that's cuz I'm studying Law and History at Uni. Believe me, when I read what both political-correct and incorrect ignorants write in their articles, blogs, forums etc. I have a feeling of buying AK-47 and shooting blindly at any internet user in my eye-sight, randomly I'll probably shoot the right one

as I said before, there is no excuse for people being lame, no matter what's their ethnic background/race/eye color blah blah

OK, i understand and think so too, that there are just overloads of polish newbz... (especially with 'PL' in nick..), but arent u takin it too hard talkin about domination, problems in Poland etc? the problem was that they are finding servers their territory (talkin in polish, whinin in polish, takin no care for the "stick to english here" warnings, noobility, dumbassility [lol ;p] etc etc etc).

imo it is goin too far, but i agree witha ban
